Thanks to the great people of Tomoson and the fabulous author Hana Goldberg, I was able to receive this book at no charge for reviewing purposes and my own reading pleasure.  This will by no means influence my opinion, review and/or rating of the book featured below.

Hana Goldberg is a Lifetime Achievement Award winner from Israel’s Association of Authors and Composers (ACUM), a best selling critically acclaimed Israeli novelist and poet and an A-list lyricist with hundreds of popular songs and many #1 hits.  Hana has written many best selling books and she is a frequent guest on Israeli television shows and has her own column about literature in Israeli’s most popular web portal.  Since her first book at the age of 17 and through her best sellers and hundreds of songs, Hana has been a strong and original voice in Israeli culture.

Hana is known for her innovative use of language, her fresh and daring style and her unique point of view that defies convention.  Hana was born and raised in Haifa, Israel.  In 1973, she served in the Israeli Defense forces as a military journalist during the traumatic Yom Kippur War.  She then studied philosophy and English literature at Haifa University. After her studies, she moved to Tel Aviv and worked as an editor for various magazines.  Later, she became a successful lyricist, working with some of the biggest names in the Israeli Music industry, writing many mega hits and rapidly becoming one of the most highly sought after lyricists in the country.

In 2000, Hana’s first novel, ‘Not a Word About Love’ was published and became an instant bestseller.  Her subsequent novels also achieved best-seller status, warmly welcomed by both readers and critics.  The novel, ‘Not a Word About Love’ was translated into English and published on Amazon (November 2014).

In 2004, Hana was elected chairperson of the Board of Directors of ACUM, the Israeli Copyright Society for music, literature and music publishers.  She held that position for 4 years.  She currently lives in Tel Aviv with her husband and is very active as a song writer and novelist.  She also teaches master classes on writing and conducts intimate gatherings with her fans to share and discuss her works.

After 11 years of marriage, Maya is swept away on a sensual, daring and hilarious journey following a random meeting with a stranger.  Through alleys fragrant with the pungent smell of fried rice and child beggars and vendors of psychedelic fabrics, she makes surprising discoveries about the stranger and about herself.  How far will she go?

It’s been so long since I have been able to relax and read a book that I couldn’t wait to dive into this one.  This book had me riveted in my seat as I turned each page to find out what happened next.  I found that I was glued to the pages from the very first words.  They grabbed me from the sensuality and drowned me in their provocativeness.  I found myself completely enthralled with the main character Maya as she took us on a ride of unknowing sadness, forbidden love and desire and enviable friendship.  The twists and turns in this novel had me guessing until the very end.  A must read for any and all novel enthusiasts alike.  I can’t wait to read other novels by Hana in the future.
