PIONEERING THE INDUSTRY TO DELIVER PROFESSIONAL HISTORY #POPCHARTLAB

Thanks to the wonderful people at Tomoson and Pop Chart Lab, I was able to receive this product at no charge for testing and reviewing purposes.  This will by no means influence my opinion, review and/or rating of the product you see featured below.

In 2010, a book editor and a graphic designer joined forces with one modest goal:  to render all of human experience in chart form.  They went on to amass no small renown (that is, a ton of renown) for their infographical treatments of the varieties of beer, the full array of culinary tools, a taxonomy of hip-hop and dozens more mappings of cultural touchstones.  Now, with a small team of researchers, designers and soldiers, Pop Chart Lab continues to assemble, sift, cull and arrange massive amounts of cultural data into meaningful works of art and information.

METICULOUS METRIC OF BASEBALL TEAM NAMES 18″ X 24″

(RETAIL $29.00)

A taxonomy of 482 professional baseball team names, spanning over 150 years and covering teams from the bigs to the minor and independent leagues, as well as the Negro Leagues, the Nippon Professional Baseball League and more.  Styled like an old-school baseball card, this is the definitive guide to the nations pastime.
Each print is signed and numbered by the artists and comes packaged in a Pop Chart Lab Test Tube.  Using 100lb archival stock certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, this poster is pressed on an offset lithographic press with vegetable based inks in Flatlands, Brooklyn.

MY THOUGHTS

I am a continuous learner.  I constantly seek out opportunities to learn.  Whether it’s about the best skincare techniques or the history of sports, I love to learn about it.  This product fits right into my wheelhouse.  When I first saw this product online, I had no idea what I was in store for.  I thought I’d just get a list of MLB teams, both past and present.  Boy was I wrong.  I think this chart (674/1000) has every team name in history.  From the well known (San Diego Padres, Pittsburgh Pirates) to the not so well known (Chattanooga Lookouts, Peoria Tractors) and even the Women’s League of WWII (Rockford Peaches).  I can’t wait to delve into this chart further and get to know each team individually so that if ever I get my turn on Jeopardy, I will be ready for the category:  BASEBALL: THEN AND NOW!

IF YOU PURCHASED A CHART LIKE THIS, WHAT SUBJECT WOULD YOU CHOOSE?
